Patch crochet

This little design I'm now using as a button line on my dressI was doing a square doily with a super thin fading light pink color thread, the initial few lines for that doily was looking so good that I thought of doing something similar for neck design for my dress. I had pearls , to finish the design midway and to give a look of completeness, I add the pearls. Now I have this attached to one of my dress. It looks great.

Square motif

Threads with fading color gives the product very nice look. I tried these maple color thread for a doily and like the look of it. So it inspired me to get some more. This time made coasters out of them.
When finished they looked little smaller for coasters, and even quite neat too. I'm planning to arrange them on a black dress.

These seven squares, four in fading maple color and two with cream and maple fading border and one in cream are ready to be fixed. I need to get the black dress:)

Pansies

Flowers have always fascinated me, I love to watch flowers endlessly absorbing the vibrant colors and hues it has to offer. When I choose threads for my crochet patterns I go with same feelings for color and hues as I do with flowers. Coming to think of floral patterns, it is so much fun to make the flowers immortal.
I keep looking for new patterns of floral designs the one I like the most is the Pansies, they look so real and elegant. There are several patterns for pansies, but this one I found the best. Why? Hmm it looks so real and pretty...oh yes! I like the two big petals stretching out and overlapping, it enhances the look.

These flowers can be put together to form a design on Kurtis and dresses.

Crochet

Crochet is a process of creating fabric from yarn, thread, or other material strands using a crochet hook. The word is derived from the French word "crochet", meaning hook. Crochet differs from knitting in that only one stitch is active at one time (exceptions being Tunisian crochet and Broomstick lace), stitches made with the same diameter of yarn are comparably taller, and a single crochet hook is used instead of two knitting needles. Additionally, crochet has its own system of symbols to represent stitch types.

I learnt it when I was in 4th standard. I started it with woollen yarn. It was just a new skill for me then. I grew this interest several years later. I was in 1st PUC when I really acknowledged the pleasure in patterns and designs of Crochet. My inspiration from the beginning was my Mother who has made very pretty designs. Somehow I never tried to repeat the designs my mother had already tried. I got acquainted to Gouri aunty when I saw the most beautiful and amazing designs and complexity of thread crochets. I was impressed. "I want to make these designs " was all I could think then. It has started … yes it started from then! I do it occasionally but do it will full dedication and love and will continue my knots in Crochet.

Whenever I see any Crochet materials or designs I get myself deeply involve with it analyzing the patterns. I love to see the designs and study it. I feel contented when I identify the design and its pattern. For me the Picture/ material are all that is needed. I haven’t understood the patterns in terms of instructions, will never do in future too. That seems very complex to me.

Initially I prepared many Motifs and joined them to form patterns. Lately I got interest in making something which can be worn. I prepared a jacket, stole, purse, Hand bag.

For Rakhi I thought why I don’t prepare using Crochet. I can pour my love into the pattern. A ritual so scared, I feel happy to prepare my Rakhi for my brother.

While browsing I got this Crochet designs. I was enthralled, I was happy that I can get ideas form net on Crochets. I continued browsing. I found many blogs. I got good ideas too.
I had time too what’s more; I bought materials I need to start my most loved hobby. I made this market bag which is very simple. I’m still doing my second one that is clutch purse. I will take some time as I’m using thread for that.
